We have seen how independent record companies have dominated the music industry. However, independent record companies have a great future in many aspects, even though there is still a long way to go with the passing of the years and the growth of social media and digital platforms that primarily benefit independent record companies since. Like these platforms, they are managed in a way with minimal bureaucracy.
Not only are there currently independent record labels on platforms like SoundCloud and other similar ones, we see how artists release their music and manage to connect with the public in a completely autonomous way; this procedure has its ups and downs like everything else since the scope is not as broad as when working with a major record label.
Speaking precisely about Latin music, this genre has many independent record labels, and I know that most of the artists on said record labels are artists of broad popularity. However, in this case, I would use the most recent phenomenon in music as an example Global Bad Bunny This artist of Puerto Rican origin, singer-songwriter, actor, and producer has been the product of an independent label since its inception. Bad Bunny was part of the independent music movement since he began. His first steps in music were through social media and digital platforms; he signed his first record contract with an independent record label, Hear This Music. Today, he is part of Rimas entertainment, an independent record label. The artist and the record labels have been awarded numerous awards from significant awards, such as Grammys and Billboard.
We know that music has transitioned to purely digital, going back to independent labels, making it much more profitable. Its defect multinational record companies have higher expenditures between employee templates and many other expenses. Still, their income may be higher, which in general can be something utterly relative to the ten that were independent, as mentioned above, reflecting the change brought by the new era of digital, and it is for this reason that they continue to be successful and are projected to continue to grow.
